PVAA So Ho Gallery

Hey, I went to Pomona Art Walk tonight. I found a gallery we could rent.

It's $450.00 for one month! Check out how big this space is. I need to contact them about when the space is available.

The down fall is the space is underground. This is a basement. But I liked it and I liked the fact that it's close to home.

Have you been down to Pomona to check out the Art scene? What do you think? They said that we would have to be at the space to watch it or gallery sit. They are a non profit organization. I spoke to some people next door , members of the Pomona Valley Art Association. They said check out their web site at www.pvaa.net

Gallery in Venice (Buckwild)

Hello everyone!
Below is the info Kim and I got from visiting the gallery in Venice, Buckwild. We met with the owner (Ken) and was told December 6 (the day we planned to rent space) is already booked, but most of November is still open. Are we ready to set a date to rent the space? We need to decide soon and maybe, if we go with this space, we'll focus on this and skip the backyard one since they will both end up landing in November....

Gallery: Buckwild
Location: 12804 Venice Blvd. Los Angeles, CA
Dates available: Most days in November
Contact: Ken Wallman 310-398-0222
Cost: $150/week

Photos:

Outdoor view. Very cool graffiti wall art.

Entrance. The glass counter area can be used as a kitchen.

DJ area by the entrance.

The space.

The metal frame (where the shirts are laid out) can be used or removed.

Let's discuss! Post comments on this entry!

Backyard art/potlock (need more info)

Date: 11/9 (Sun) Noon-4:00PM
Set up date: 11/7 (Fri) 11:30- till we're done (during class hours)
Location: Kim's backyard
20995 Divonne Dr.
Walnut, CA 91789

So, the idea is to bring our artwork to hang/present while having a potluck event at Kim's backyard. I (Nancy) can design the postcards, but want to hear everyone's opinion on whether we should send them out as postcards or use evites. We have to keep in mind that this event will be open to the public, but it's a resident...

Next step is to figure out a theme and name of the event.
